The selected artist for this project was Carlos Torres. BAHS, in partnership with ArteLatAm, presented a dynamic visual arts residency led by a professional teaching artist that provided students with an immersive, hands-on creative experience. Throughout the residency, students explored a variety of artistic mediums, including sculpture, mobiles, collage, fashion sketching, and wearable art, while expanding their technical skills, creative thinking, and confidence through meaningful, process-based projects.

A signature component of the residency was a two-hour community workshop that brought together students and their families to create artwork side by side under the guidance of the resident artist. This collaborative experience reinforced unity while deepening artistic engagement.
