Gilly Lugo is an artist of Dominican descent based in NYC. She attended the Fashion Institute of Technology where she received her BFA in Illustration and is currently enrolled in a Post Baccalaureate Certificate program at the University of Massachusetts. Her artistic career includes working in the fashion and toy design industries, working as a freelance artist and muralist.
Her designs were selected for a public installation of pianos throughout NYC through Sing For Hope, a non profit organization whose mission statement believes that art should be accessible to everyone.She has participated several group shows in New York City, most recently as a part of a group installation at Taller Boricua.
Gilly is currently working as an Artist in Residency for the Urban Gardening & Arts program developed by ArteLatAm in schools in New York. As a teacher, incorporate art into the lesson plans to help students practice color recognition, learn about mixing colors, and explore different artistic expressions and artists inspired by nature.
