Melania Maldonado views music and the human voice as far more than artistic disciplines; she sees them as powerful instruments for communication, human development, and social transformation. Throughout her career, she has been committed to creating spaces where the arts foster education, emotional well-being, and meaningful connections within diverse communities.

A mezzo-soprano, vocal coach, and cultural leader, Melania has dedicated her professional life to developing initiatives that combine artistic excellence with social impact. Through her educational work and leadership, she promotes the richness of Latin American culture while building collaborative artistic networks in New York and beyond.

With nearly three decades of experience training singers, speakers, and performers, she is the founder of MelaniaMusic, a private vocal training studio in Manhattan, and serves as a Specialist in Latin American Music at Western Kentucky University, contributing to the preservation and promotion of the region’s musical heritage.

Her educational vision is reflected in initiatives such as Music for Life, a program that integrates music education with cultural and social-emotional development, using the arts as a catalyst for personal growth, leadership, and community engagement.

Her commitment to public service has been a defining aspect of her career. For more than twelve years, she has actively served with the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), the oldest and largest Hispanic civil rights organization in the United States. As President of LULAC Council #23199 in Midtown Manhattan, she has led cultural, educational, and civic initiatives that strengthen the Latino community through music and vocal education.

Today, Melania Maldonado serves as Program Project Manager for Dance and Music Programs, leading the development and implementation of cultural and educational initiatives with an international vision. Through her work, she continues to expand access to the arts, nurture emerging talent, and build meaningful partnerships that strengthen communities through music, education, and cultural exchange.
