Pedro Felipe Vintimilla

Art Programs Consultant

Behind Pedro Felipe Vintimilla’s multifaceted career lies an unwavering driving force: the ability to transform art making, art education, and culture care into real-world opportunities for dialogue, reflection, and community connection.

His creative style seamlessly blends multidisciplinary artistic processes with a deep devotion to social impact, successfully bridging higher education and community-focused cultural spaces across the United States and South America.

Pedro Felipe’s strategic vision is backed by a solid, evolving academic foundation. Born in Ecuador and based in Queens, New York, he holds a Master’s degree in Fine Arts and Social Practice and is currently a PhD candidate in Art and Heritage from the Universidad de Sevilla, Spain.

This unique combination allows him to decipher complex social landscapes while building sustainable, human-centered structures to explore deeply personal questions of cultural identity, immigration, gender, and belonging through mediums like papermaking, textiles, and digital imagery.

“For Pedro Felipe, art has the potential to be an aesthetic tool to foster collaboration, social engagement, education, and open spaces where communities find a sense of belonging and participation.”

His commitment to cultural care and collaborative frameworks is deeply rooted in a trajectory that began in 2012 with his development of an experimental and multidisciplinary artistic laboratory.

His expertise in the field is highlighted by his 2022 invitation as an advisory member for “The Art of Engagement,” a prestigious research project organized by the University of Middlesex in London and the Tate Museum.

Furthermore, his acclaimed work has been exhibited globally at institutions such as the Queens Museum in New York, the Museo de Arte de Nogales in Mexico, and the Casa del Artista in Ecuador.

Today, he capitalizes on this rich trajectory and his active role in academia—serving as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Art Education at City College (CUNY) and of Studio Art at Connecticut State Community College (Norwalk)—to lead as Art Director of Programs, driving initiatives where creative innovation, cultural education, and social transformation always go hand in hand.
