ArteLatAm is proud to announce that our President and Co-Founder, Sylvia R. Mata, will participate in the Queens Public Library’s virtual series Pioneer Immigrant Women in America on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. (EST).
As part of the Hispanic Heritage Month celebration, the program will be broadcast live on YouTube Live and Facebook Live, produced by Selina Sharmin, MLS & MLIS, Program Producer and Assistant Manager at the South Jamaica Branch.
During the conversation, Sylvia will share her journey as a cultural leader, highlighting her work in expanding bilingual arts education, advancing public art, and building creative communities.
“It is an honor to share my story during such a meaningful month, and to highlight the resilience and creativity of immigrant women who have made a lasting impact in our communities. Through the arts, we continue to build bridges, preserve cultural identity, and create opportunities for the next generation,” said Sylvia R. Mata.
This event is an opportunity to strengthen intercultural dialogue and shed light on the transformative power of the arts in immigrant communities.
